Katy B has been on the fast train to success, she first appeared on the music scene with her debut single Katy on a Mission which was produced with dubstep sensation Benga. She later went on to collaborate with the likes of DJ Zinc, Skream, Magnetic Man and Miss dynamite to name a few. She has been labeled the Popstep Princess because of her infusion of dubstep, garage and pop which truely defines her sound.
Her Debut album was released this April (04/04/11) and is probably the most eagerly awaited album of the year, big words given it is only April but they stand true. It features her two massive single releases "Katy on a mission" and "Lights on" along with her collaboration with Magnetic Man. Listening to it it stays true to her original sound with a good mix of Funky, dubstep, garage maybe a bit of grime too. There are plenty of bangers aside from her known releases which will keep the die hard fans happy although we are surprised to see that "Louder" wasn't included.
It is definitely worth checking out if your a fan of Katy or Rinse FM, it is a huge release and regardless of its pop label it stays true to the underground pirate radio scene that brought her to where she is now.
