As Summer is fast approaching we have to admit already to having a regular browse of on the net at this seasons swimwear and even purchasing a few swimsuits already; maybe a bit optimistic for Britain but never too early to prepare for the summer getaway! And it is defiantly not too early to justify buying bikinis in May if the catwalks are already showing off their swimwear collections for next season! Here are the runway highlights from We Are Handsomes 2012/13 swimwear collection…


 

All pieces are 100% Australian designed and sewn. The collection has a varied selection of silhouettes with magnificent graphic prints including, all in one print swimsuits with straps and some with short sleeves, tie up bikinis, bustier pin-up style floral bikini top and high waisted bottoms, tropical print leggings and a maxi length kaftan dress with large split. But what really stands out for me from all of We Are Handsomes collections are the glorious bold graphic printed images on the swimsuits. 

You can see how this duo of designers has been perfectly matched; Jeremy J Somers with a background in Graphic Design and Indhra Chagoury with understanding of swimwear styles and cuts, both noticing a hole in the swimwear market of bold, breaking the mould, powerful swimsuits that would turn heads on the beach…thus their adventure began.

 

We've seen a lot of these image print style swimsuits from other retailers too, they seem to be popular this year so if you want to pick up one similar try here at Black Milk Clothing or Wildfox Couture. The We Are Handsome collections are available on Net-a-Porter and other e-stores.

INSA - Girls on Bikes.

Well known artist INSA lands his first UK exhibition for his recent photography project Girls on Bike. This exhibition proved to be a hit recently in Hong Kong. INSA brings it home to 18 Hewett Street.

Antidote #2 Covers.

Bi-annual fashion publication Antidote dedicates it's second issue to the title of 'A matter of shoes' yes, that's right it is all about shoes! The heels are provided by Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior.

Boobs in 3-D

The temptation was to write a long piece justifying our creation of 3DD. We could have thrown in some academic analysis on the prominent role of the nude in the history of art and elaborate on the ways that 3DD advances that canon. We might have pointed out that the beautiful images of natural breasts in all shapes and sizes are a wonderful celebration of real women in all their glory. Or we could have revealed in the universal truth that looking and talking about boobs is just a lot of fun.

But that would be to complicate something that can be said in four words.

I wonder how many guys will be adding this to their Christmas list?

Night Terror | Amelia Arsenic

A is for Arsenic is a new multidisciplinary art and fashion label based in London. It is the brainchild of Amelia Arsenic, an Australian artist and designer with a background in rock and roll and visual communications. A is for Arsenic is a one woman operation run entirely by Amelia out of her studio in West London.

Every month a new capsule collection will be launched and is very limited in edition. A is for Arsenic is a premium fashion brand which has an emphasis on high quality design, craftsmanship and an attention to detail. Every A is for Arsenic item is a piece of wearable art and is hand screen printed and made with love in England.

Amelia kindly sent me one of her totes, as well as some extra little goodies.
Which came in a rad packaged box and was all very neat and professional looking.

Hand screen printed in England and printed on an organic 100% cotton tote made by Continental.

Each tote comes gift packaged in a specially designed ‘A is for Arsenic’ screen printed shirt box. This style comes in a limited edition of 20 pieces with a hand numbered and signed swing tag.

Not only is Amelia a buddy fashion designer she is an amazing Graphic artist as well. Reminds me alot of one of my favourite blogs Nubby Twiglet.

Goodone Launching in Topshop

We are pleased to announce that one of our favourite clothing brands 'Goodone' will be launching a collection with Topshop that will début in September, coinciding with London Fashion Week.

Topshop have been quoted saying that they are really exciting to be working with Goodone, as an up and coming brand they have successfully combined sustainability with great design.


The collection will be sold online as well as in the Oxford Circus Flagship store.
The same collection was also bought by Yoox.com, an online boutique selling exclusive
collections by prestigious designers, further highlighting the success of these
current designs.

Goodone was created by Nin Castle in 2006. Nin was shortlisted for the RE New Designer of the Year Award in 2008. ASOS launched the collection on their website in 2009.

We are pretty excited to see the new line. We've been promised it will be full of body-hugging dresses with quilted hips and shaping side panels, arans knits, knitted peg trousers and an array of other exciting cuts.
