Gio-Goi AW11

As you will all know Autumn is in full swing now with leaves falling off the trees and plenty of rain, this means the cold Winter's nights are fast approaching. Gio-Goi's AW11 collection stays true to the "lumberjack" look which was big last year but refreshed and tweaked the look a little with a line of plaid shirts, knitwear and of course t-shirts to layer up with. Now of course we know plaid shirts are not new but don't be to sharp to dismiss them as they are a versatile and good for those days when its not quite warm enough to wear just a t-shirt. Opting for darker shades for the AW11 collection Gio-Goi have made this collection perfect for everyday wear whilst not being bland and unexciting. The knitwear is a nice addition and stays true to what is popular this season. We like the subtle military touches to them!

This is probably our favourite piece from the collection, it's not everyday you see a t-shirt with a photo by photographer Chris heads on it.

This week features the ladies installment of a hat and a scarf. To view the recent Winter Warmers posts please click here.

We love this hat from Forever21 and are stoked that we can now order online from the UK.

When we first heard about snoods we weren't too sure about them but after purchasing a few ourselves we are in love and this one from Topshop is no different.

Currently Listening to: Washed Out - Feel It All Around

This is Washed Out, aka Ernest Greene of South Carolina. He makes the kind of hazy, 80s-inspired electropop that fools us for a minute into thinking it's actually dreamy summertime out there and not all ice and snow.

Fun facts: he's friends with Toro Y Moi's Chaz Bundick, released his first EP as a limited edition cassette only, and has his own blog (and book) here. Have a listen to his newest EP Life of Leisure on Spotify while you cuddle up with some of our winter warmers. Perfection.

Winter Warmers #1

So the other day I was walking around in the freezing cold in a hoody and a T-shirt and soon froze, I came to think about how guys are rubbish at preparing for the weather outside. It's an all too common site to see some poor bloke get out of his car and freeze while he wanders around the great outdoors, Deerbrains is here to help with this ever so common issue! We will now be running a weekly feature through the winter that highlights clothing fit for purpose in the brisk winter weather, we are even giving you the link to save the legwork!

Here goes!

Penfield Rockford Jacket

Penfield has been creating fresh workwear for some time now, the Rockford is a classic example of what Penfield do best! It is sure to keep you warm and dry in the arctic December temperatures that Britain has been experiencing, not just that it looks fresh with the plaid detailing on the shoulders!

It is available from URBAN INDUSTRY
