Pop superstar Whitney Houston passed away at the Beverly Hills Hilton hotel at 3:55pm yesterday, due to as-yet unconfirmed circumstances. While her recent fall from grace and descent into drug use may have served as rather excellent gossip fodder, at her peak her talent was incomparable.
She leaves behind the legacy of hundreds of awards, one of the greatest commercial successes for any female solo star and a haunting warning of the perils of drug abuse and addiction. We want to remember her greatness though, so enjoy these a cappella renditions of two of her biggest hits, as well as her first-ever TV appearance in 1985.
