Coffin on Cake PR SS'12 Press Day

Last week Coffin On Cake PR held a press day to showcase the SS12 collections by the brands they represent. The event held at the notoriously cool Vinyl Factory in Soho was well-organised and thoroughly impressive.

Each collection was talked through by a charming member of the Coffin On Cake team, from the designs and fabric choices to the story behind the brand itself.

Coffin On Cake PR represent major lifestyle brands including; Alpinestars, Converse, Cushe Footwear, Pull-In, Mr Lacy, Rip Curl, and Fallen, in addition to a multitude of brands under the Surfdome group.

It was refreshing to see so many lifestyle brands being adventurous with colour palette and fabrics, (specifically tie-dye) and effectively designing functional pieces with exceptional stylistic qualities.

From charming nautical to timeless biker style to bold brave prints the Vinyl Factory was bursting with a diverse mix of pieces from a wide range of action sports brands.

The eye-catching 2012 Olympic inspired prints used by underwear makers Pull-In were particularly impressive.

There were some great pieces by all the brands, but particular favourites include:

Pink and Black heart detail sweater by Numph, available from www.surfdome.com in early 2012

‘Killer’ sweater by Matix from their SS12 Collection, available from www.surfdome.com in early 2012.
You can shop the current Matix collection at Surfdome here: http://www.surfdome.com/Matix_Clothing_and_Matix_Accessories~416

Ice-cream print pants by Pull-In, available from www.blackleaf.com in early 2012

Off-white canvas holdall bag by Converse, available exclusively from ASOS in early 2012

Moss green backpack by Herschel, available from www.surfdome.com in early 2012.

Coffin On Cake Press Day AW11

The lovely people over at Coffin On Cake PR had us in for their press day last week, and it was pretty damn ace. Tucked away in a gorgeous brick-feature building in Soho, the Coffin On Cake team showed us some of the best from the brands they represent.

They cover everyone from bright underwear makers Pull-In and Ripcurl to the giant Surfdome group of lifestyle brands.

We particularly loved Fallen, one of their newest clients, and their brand of sharp skate-wear. They run NGO Skateistan, the world's first co-ed skate school for children in war conflict zones (based in Afghanistan).

The slick, biker-inspired mens and womenswear from Alpine Stars also caught our eye. They marry clean lines with sixties detailing in a way that creates timeless style. You can check out a great editorial featuring some of their piece's in this month's Notion Magazine too.

Overall we had a great day at the Vinyl Factory, and are saying another huge thanks to everyone at Coffin on Cake for being so great and taking care of us as we cooed over our favourite pieces.
