Flickr Feature #9

It's that time of the week again where we showcase whats good in our flickr group! There has been a fair amount of submissions from new people this week which we have to say is great, means the word is getting out there about Deerbrains.

Samuel Bradley

We are loving the depth of field and the use of black and white medium format film, the Bokeh in the background is some of the best we have seen!

Danny Lamper

We like how the light falls on the girls hair and the colours in the background, they really set this photo off.

Joe John

We didn't see many photos of the snow in our Flickr group so when this one pop up we felt it needed showing. It's pretty interesting, the kid is shooting a bull!

Rory J Cole

First up is Rory J Cole with this portrait of a girl in a 5 panel hat, not much to say about it but we like it! Her facial expression says it all, shock and awe.

Jack Gilliland

Jack Gilliland is an Illustrator from not so sunny Sussex, his style is very unique with his photo esk portraits which I'm not sure wether they are true to life or not but either way they are seriously good. He genuinely has a raw talent for what he does and it shows in his work, I can imagine most of his illustrations suddenly jumping off the screen and starting to move about. They have a real sense of true life detail, he gives his drawings personality.

To see more of what Jack gets up to check out his blog where he regularly adds new work.

Flickr Feature #7

A little late this week we apologise! We have had a really good turn out this week, probably the most new stuff submitted in a week since we started the Flickr Feature. Lets keep it growing, tell your friends and family, get them to love Deerbrains as much as we do!

Chris Eghweree

We like how sharp this is and the contrast of the purple and green, reminds us of those 3D pictures you used to get on the back of cereal boxes

Samuel Bradley

More great photos from Sam Bradley this week, we said it already but expect big things from this guy! We think this photo should be titled Deerbrains, quite fitting no? Check out Sam's work with some taxidermy, pretty interesting!

Chanded terville

We like multiple exposures when they are done properly, this one does it right. Cant really say much about this photo but it definitely stood out in the group.

Milo Belgrove

Milo is one of the more common names in the Deerbrains group which is a good thing, he submits plenty of really nice photos repping Brighton. We love how there is a girl sprawled out on the floor and a rabbit casually chilling behind her, nice!

Flickr feature #6

Its Monday again so that means another flickr feature, we are up to 6 now and the group is still showing some great work! Not much festive stuff though, we want festive things for next week. Take some photos at the New years event that you plan on attending!

Audrey Malo

Audrey is a French Canadian illustrator that graduated in Montreal. It has been cold recently which is why we like this, it reminds us of that really big warm jumper you wear while watching tv on those dark winter nights. Relatively new to the Deerbrains Flickr group but looking through her flickr she has a solid collection of illustrations and drawings which are well worth a look.

Claire Massey

Claire is also from across the water residing from Alberta. There is some crazy colours going on here which at first we thought were a light leak but after reading some of the comments under the photos it appears Claire has dipper it in lemon juice. We are liking the effect it has caused, it looks almost cross processed.

Luke Byrne

The yellow hues give this photo by Luke a really 60's feel, the 60's were probably the most influential decade so thats always going to go down in our books!

Daniel Grant

This is kind of sad because its a fish but the contrast is pretty nice, keeping it fresh. Not sure thats a good thing?
