We are Handsome

As Summer is fast approaching we have to admit already to having a regular browse of on the net at this seasons swimwear and even purchasing a few swimsuits already; maybe a bit optimistic for Britain but never too early to prepare for the summer getaway! And it is defiantly not too early to justify buying bikinis in May if the catwalks are already showing off their swimwear collections for next season! Here are the runway highlights from We Are Handsomes 2012/13 swimwear collection…


 

All pieces are 100% Australian designed and sewn. The collection has a varied selection of silhouettes with magnificent graphic prints including, all in one print swimsuits with straps and some with short sleeves, tie up bikinis, bustier pin-up style floral bikini top and high waisted bottoms, tropical print leggings and a maxi length kaftan dress with large split. But what really stands out for me from all of We Are Handsomes collections are the glorious bold graphic printed images on the swimsuits. 

You can see how this duo of designers has been perfectly matched; Jeremy J Somers with a background in Graphic Design and Indhra Chagoury with understanding of swimwear styles and cuts, both noticing a hole in the swimwear market of bold, breaking the mould, powerful swimsuits that would turn heads on the beach…thus their adventure began.

 

We've seen a lot of these image print style swimsuits from other retailers too, they seem to be popular this year so if you want to pick up one similar try here at Black Milk Clothing or Wildfox Couture. The We Are Handsome collections are available on Net-a-Porter and other e-stores.

Red Bull Flugtag, Roundhay Park, Leeds

This Weekend was the Red Bull Flugtag at Roundhay Park, Leeds, the first in the area and my goodness was it hilarious! Over 15,000 attendees converged in North-East Leeds amidst the fairground, stalls, music, food and of course a huge platform where 34 teams of crazily dressed aviators flug themselves from in an attempt to scale as much distance as possible. Brilliant. Ticket were hot property as the event was maxed out in no time afte rthey we're released.

 Toy Story heroes 'To Infinity and the Pond' took the win and rightfully, so! Ahead of the much hyped 'Come on Kes' who we're definite favourites yet somewhat dissapointing after taking their time to produce a fairly average performance.

To Infinity and the Pond pulled out all the stops with their Toy Story costumes, scoring an impressive 39 out of 40 points for creativity. Check the video below for some highlights of the day, we absolutely loved it.

Farah Vintage SS11

Farah Vintage is a brand we frequent on the likes of ASOS and the latest drop is something to seriously consider adding to your wardrobe. It looks as though, amidst all the rain and the thunder that the humidity and clear skies associated with a more tropical climate are finally gracing us here on the Isles and so a staple wardrobe addition has to the be a short sleeve. T-shirt, or shirt, you decide. But if a shirt if more your thing, you'd be a fool to not consider the following chambrays, checks, ginghams and pinstripes. They've been doing it well since the 70's so why would they stop now?

BRIXTON Drop

New seasons means new drops and brands taking things into a new direction. Brixton are no exception.
For the first time we're going to see two new snapbacks and a 'fiddler' cap alongside the expected appearances of summer straw hats.
