Very Important Plectrums x Ben Sherman

From May 29th, Ben Sherman will be linking up with charities Lifebeat and Trekstock to launch an online plectrum auction project that sounds amazing. Here's the premise: top musicians sign their own plectrums, offer them up for auction and 100% of proceeds go towards educating young people about HIV/AIDS prevention and combating cancer. The key here is harnessing music as a force for good. What about that don't we like?

So far Mark Ronson, Anna Calvi, Frankie & the Heartstrings, Emmylou Harris, Paul Weller and We Are Scientists are just some of those involved. The collaboration launches with a secret gig in London that we'll be able to tell you some more about later. For now we can say that you're not gonna want to miss the headliner! Japan: Continuing crisis

So, we've just donated to the tragedy that has affected Japan.
Obviously every natural disaster is intense, scary, horrendous but this one and September 11th are absolutely beyond heart break for us personally. Our thoughts and prayers are going to everyone that's been affected by this crime caused by Mother Nature.

FREE Volcom Hat - Saturday 18th December 2010

Saturday 18th December, Volcom will be firing up the hat press in the London Volcom store and printing FREE unique hats for everyone who comes through the door (while stocks last, of course).

This Saturday (18th December) you will be able to get a free unique hat from Volcom (providing stock lasts, obviously)
There will be a collection for the Whitechapel Centre for the homeless so bring some spare change to support the cause.

Kharma NYC

Kele from Kharma NYC sent me over an e-mail last night explaining who he was and what he did for this project. I was drawn to it straight away as it's something I am very passionate about, 1...design, 2....collaborating to bring all ideas together and 3...charity. This is one of those projects that you can tell they've worked amazingly hard on and one that I want to be a part of! Owwww.





Collaborating with 8 other designers including Mario Hugo, Non-Format, No Pattern and Emil Kozak among others, we asked each designer to take a step back from their commercial work and design a print for a cause personally significant to them. Each designer chose an organization and cause that has had an impact on their lives, and then created a hand-printed, limited numbered tshirt print inspired by the cause.

The “This is What Matters to Me” project is the first of an ongoing series by our collaborative, cause-driven brand, KharmaNYC. This is the first of many unique collaborations to come.
