Sperry Top-Sider x Jeffrey 'Colour Pack'

With Summer fast approaching and bright colours slowly creeping into our wardrobes, iconic footwear manufacturer Sperry Top-Sider has just what you need with this newly released collection for New York retailer Jeffrey.

Giving the classic two-eye boat shoe a colourful re-think, each shoe in the pack utilises a quality suede for the tonal upper and a colour matched rubber outsole, which of course follows Paul Sperry's original cocker spaniel inspired design. Coming in blue, red and yellow, any one of these colourways will be perfect for adding a little colour to your Summer outfits.

Available now from the Sperry online store.

Wildfox x Jeffery Campbell

The much-anticipated Wildfox X Jeffery Campbell collaboration is finally here exclusively available on pre-sale at www.solestruck.com.

Los Angles powerhouses announced the collaboration a few months back, not a surprise to fans as the brands are very similar in their manners and style, often utilizing each others products for shoots.

The ballerina flat forms being the main focus of the 4 piece collection, the much talked about dream shoe is available in satin pink and white, fit with ribbon ankle straps and an impressive 5 1/2" heel and 3 1/4" platform; over the top girly but sure to be a hit.

Fab 5 Project: Ellesse x Colette Paris.

For AW11 ellesse heritage has taken 5 legendary styles of shoe from the ellesse heritage archive and offered one of each to 5 of the most influential retailers on the planet. The 5 retailers were invited to customise and rework an iconic ellesse footwear piece that is conducive to their core identity and exemplifies their retail persona.

The third installment of the Fab 5 project comes from Colette; the premier Parisian concept lifestyle store.

Choosing the 'Assist' basketball shoe as their canvas, Colette have applied their signature 'bleu' to the block of the shoe and added contrasting polka dot laces. A custom 'colette bleu' basketball accompanies the shoe on purchase, celebrating the roots of it's design. The result is not only FABulous but fierce! And is the only shoe from the Fab 5 collection that is available in women's sizes.

Rupert Sanderson

In a moment of madness or divine intervention Rupert Sanderson resigned from a disastrous career in advertising to learn how to make shoes at the Cordwainers College in East London.

During the summer break of the two year course he rode a motorbike to Italy to visit as many shoe factories, tanneries and last makers as he could.

In a very short time he was working in Italy firstly for Sergio Rossi and then Bruno Magli.  Rupert is very proud to have been able to work with the founders and their families of both these companies before they were bought by larger luxury goods companies  it has stood him in good stead with the closely knit Italian shoe making community.

His design philosophy is simply 'less is more'. Avoiding augmentation and over dressing the foot he concentrates on perfecting line, volume and material to flatter and lengthen the leg, and make women feel sexier.  His inspiration comes from the materials themselves; from the sensual curve and silhouettes of the lasts and heels, to the quality and finish of the best leather and fabrics.

Rupert Sanderson has two London stores and in March 2010 opened his first international flagship store on 8 On Lan Street, Hong Kong. Followed closely by opening a store in the Palais Royal in Paris in April 2010.

Love Art Wear Art SS11

As the madness of London Fashion Week draws to a close, we took on an invite to the launch of Nicole le Grange's new footwear label, Love Art Wear Art. We were treated to beautiful shoes swinging in bird cages, free champagne, fairy cakes and a dangerous zone in which to try on and buy shoes direct on the night.

Named Nika, the debut collection draws on influences from South African-born Nicole's travels, and especially her love of Nigerian Chris Ofili's artwork. She said herself he wanted to design a range that filled that gap between low-quality and ridiculously pricey, sourcing a Spanish family-owned supplier and only using natural materials of the highest quality.
It shows. These shoes are delicious. Plus, there are only fifty of each style being made, and each pair is numbered. And in case you were wondering, Nicole (below) had been on her feet in them for five hours when we met, and insisted we quote that they were still going strong.
If you're into her mix of print, eye-popping colour and sexy but stable wooden heels check out more here. Thanks a lot to Nicole for hosting a great night and being such a sweetheart to us. Yay to the Haribo-filled goodie bag at the end too.
