New Look at Sticky Mike's Frog Bar (Brighton, 4.10.2011)

If any of our lovely Brightonian Deer Brainers are at a loose end tomorrow, this is where you should be. The masterminds at Strong Look are putting together an absolutely killer night at Sticky Mike's Frog Bar (formerly Jam, on Middle Street). In all seriousness, we're considering going down from London for the night.

New Look - Nap On the Bow by New Look

First off, brand new Canadian, NYC-based band New Look will be headlining one of their first ever UK gigs. Already given praise by Cascine Records' founder and the Guardian New Band of the Day list, their brand of slick, futuristic pop will no doubt seduce your ears as it did ours. Vocalist Anneka will be opening for them too.

Then the night descends into the nineties time-machine that is I Hate Myself And Want To Party. The night's been given the spotlight in the Guardian Guide's clubbing here.

Don't be kicking yourself when New Look blow up and you're all like 'oh man, I could've seen them for a fiver but stayed in watching Made In Chelsea on 4od'.

AudioDoughnuts Presents - Corsica Studios (28.08.11)

The talented peeps over at Audio Doughnuts are hosting their penultimate party of 2011 at Corsica Studios this Sunday. This will be the place to be once you feel like your Notting Hill Carnival buzz is dying down and you need a refreshing scene to jump on. Leave the scattered jerk chicken bones in West London and head down to Corsica Studios from 10pm for what should a ridiculous night of all out partying til 6am.

It's a fiver before midnight, and totally free for the first hundred people: as is always the case with their nights, get there early for fun times. The Fives will be playing live, and taking over their night as a single launch party.

Click here for the Facebook event, and here for more details. Keep up with Audio Doughnuts on Facebook and Twitter to hear the latest on the build-up to the night. It'll soon be the label's first anniversary, so this can be the pre-party before that party.

Kitsuné Club Night @ XOYO 17.06.11

If you've ever seen IS TROPICAL live you'll know that's reason enough to go to this night. Added to that, of course, is the fact that it's coming to us from sickeningly cool fashion and music label Kitsuné and the Neon Noise Project. This Friday Shoreditch's XOYO will be imploding from within with live sets from Yuksek and others, DJ sets from Vice favourites TEETH!!! and a room curated by art darlings Off Modern.

Standard tickets are still going for £12, and entry goes up on the night. Worth it.

See the Facebook event here for more details.

Short Back 'n' Sides x SME

The lovely crew over at We Are SME blog are curating a barbershop-cum-club night that sounds so rad. It's gonna be the debut for a monthly event run by Short Back 'n' Sides, and is all kicking off tomorrow from 6pm til the trimmers turn blunt.

We're talking West African barbershop art from SBNS, free haircuts, and a nail bar all on the ground floor at Blackall Studios in Shoreditch. Then, after you get your hair did, you can head downstairs for hip-hop, soul, dubstep and funk DJ sets from SBNS record spinners til sunrise. SME have been doing great things recently, and just had a feature on BBC 6 Music, so will be well worth partying with.

Entry: A fiver

Venue: Right here

See you there.
