Sextape - The Macbeth (25.5.2012)

The team behind Brighton's Sextape nights are at it again, and this time they're bringing their mix of filthy pop, rap and r'n'b to London-town too. Tonight you can dance to sleazy hits at the Green Door Store on their home turf. Our buddy Ben, of Strong Look and Strongbones.FM is part of their core team and is pretty much guaranteed to bring the heat.

Then, on Friday the resident DJs are joined by our own blogger Neu Things as well as Ro Sham Beau, Bird-Watch and Chris Cuff (of the epic Family Ltd music PR company). It's going down at The Macbeth in Hoxton and is 100% free entry all night (cos they love us that much).

Listen to the great mix the Sextape team put together to get yourself in the mood, then head to their the Facebook event to make any requests before body-popping to your heart's delight in the club. There's still time!

Follow team Sextape on Tumblr and Twitter to keep up with their slightly NSFW posts and party announcements. We are very excited about this one.

Volcom Store Launch @ Boxpark, Shoreditch

We headed over to the Boxpark pop-up mall in Shoreditch on Thursday evening (March 22, 2012) to check out the new shipping container space now filled with Volcom goodies. With free beer from Budweiser, music pumped out through the store and an exclusive collaboration line out for the ladies, there was plenty to see.

Volcom x POSSO dress
Our party buddy Lindsay from CultureLabel made a beeline for the new POSSO range, designed and inspired by the LA female DJ duo of the same name. The line references 90s silhouettes, with long-sleeved crop tops and an awesome leatherette body con dress with a low back and tie detail. Yum.
Artwork ceiling that we loved
For the boys, the brand is continuing to do what it does best: tees, caps and well-cut jeans sat alongside their range of spring jackets and rep that Volcom, easy-going aesthetic. There were some great printed tee designs on show, as well as a line of slim fit trousers in a variety of colours with discreet and tasteful logo detailing.
Transfer tats on display
All in all we had an ace time, and definitely have our eye on a few items that particularly shone out. Much love to Carly at Canoe, and to the legendary boy who opened all our beers with his special trick. Head to Boxpark Unit 13, on the ground floor, too see the Volcom wares yourself.

One of our London-based music and events writers is DJing this free night at the Old Blue Last in Shoreditch this Saturday, so we reckon you should drop by. It's the album launch party for dizzying and delightful pop outfit Internet Forever, and they'll be joined by Stairs to Korea and Her Parents on that ace little stage.

Bands are on from 8pm to 11pm, with our girl taking to the decks just after. Come on down to enjoy the live show, boogie to her set with GoldBars (of TimeOut Music and Loud & Quiet mag) and/or all of the above.

Blitz Vintage Last Blast Sale (02.02.12)

The talented team at Hanbury Street's Blitz Vintage Department Store have an insane sale on, for one night only, tomorrow evening. From 5pm to 9pm they'll be slashing discounted items already priced 50% to 70% off by a further 20%.

There'll also be free drinks poured courtesy of the lovely people at Jeremiah Weed, and the Disorder Mag street style snapper will be out and ready to pap stylish shoppers as they browse.

Yeah, we freaked out a little too.

Londoners with a love for well-curated vintage, you won't want to miss this. And if you happen to be in the Big Smoke tomorrow evening for any other reason, why not pop in and make off with a beautiful piece? We hear there's a cold snap on the way and those faux fur coats won't sell themselves...

Vans Downtown Showdown - 20.08.11

Tomorrow from midday Old Spitalfields Market is going to be transformed into a fully customised skate park, where twelve of the best skate teams from around Europe will compete for €50,000 prize money and to win your hearts. In the vein of the old Victorian London where Jack The Ripper once roamed the streets the teams are designing their own ramps, with titles like Ripper Alley and the Superdead Tavern. We're intrigued.

Vans Downtown Showdown 2011 - Teaser from Vans Europe.

The event is free, and the skating will kick off from 1pm. If for whatever reason you can't be there, it'll be live streaming here via Freecaster. Otherwise, get down to Old Spitalfields Market tomorrow by midday for an awesome day of tricks and entertainment.

This Friday Shoreditch's XOYO will be imploding from within with live sets from Yuksek and others, DJ sets from Vice favourites TEETH!!! and a room curated by art darlings Off Modern.
